This page is a hub for the websites, articles, podcasts, and other resources that I frequently send to caregivers. This is by no means a comprehensive list! My hope is to provide you with a jumping-off point and reduce your sense of overwhelm.
1. Take small bites. Give yourself time to read through one article or listen to a single podcast, and sit with it. I can guarantee that this will give you more to work with than opening 15 tabs and skimming the headlines.
2. Trust the process. By seeking guidance and asking the question, "what do I do now?" you are already in the process of making powerful and positive changes. Awareness is always the first step.
3. Be kind to yourself. Learning new things requires self-reflection, and that can bring challenging emotions up to the surface. This is normal and completely okay. The same advice you'd give your kids applies to you, too. Keep practicing, let yourself mess up, and have faith that small changes slowly over time add up.
4. Don't go it alone. We are built for community. Probably the most powerful and helpful thing you can do for yourself--especially when you are convinced that no one could possible understand what you're going through--is to reach out and connect with other people who have at least experienced something similar. That could be someone you know, someone in a group on the internet, or even an author or podcaster. Your experience is unique, and you are not alone.
