Pennies for Heaven is a program run by the Washington state Knights of Columbus. The evening begins with a potluck and each person brings in their pennies for weighing. Prizes are awarded for the largest weight. The money collected is turned over to the Knights of Columbus and added to the Pennies for Heaven fund ... currently over $1.3 million! Interest off the fund is then split among the 3 Archdiocese in Washington as well as the Bishop White Seminary at Gonzaga University. The funds are used to offset the cost of 3rd and 4th year Seminarians -- last year we received a donation of $27,000!
