Art Class with Ms. Meyers

Thank you for visiting my web page. I have been teaching art at St. Francis since 2010. We have fun looking at famous artwork, getting our hands dirty and creating beautiful works of art! All students have art class once or twice per week.

I have set up a page for each grade where you can find general information about what students will learn.  I use Google Classroom where ongoing assignments and information will be posted throughout the school year.

Click on the sidebar to find information for each grade level.  Feel free to take a peak at the documents attached below to find out about rules, procedures and other art related information.

Sending Artwork Home

This week I am starting to send artwork home.  After grandparents day on 5/10, any remaining art, including self-portraits will be handed back to students to take home.  By May 17th, your student should have all their artwork that has been at school in 3rd trimester.

Ask your child to see their artwork, talk about it, decide where to display it.  I hope you enjoy the work as much I have!

For the remaining weeks of school students will make arts & crafts.  You can expect your child to bring home at least one last project (the corner room) by the end of the school year.  If time allows, we may create some quick make & take projects as well.

8th Grade Masks 2022

8th graders do a final project in art class.  They created plaster masks and personalized them with details to represent who they are.  Check out the slideshow to see the results in this slideshow.
