Due:

🟒Graduation Speech! in Google Classroom

🟒Graduation Speech!

Would you like to be a speaker at your graduation ceremony which is now less than one month away?Β  Traditionally, two or three graduating eighth grade students give short speeches just before students are called forward to receive their diplomas.Β  If you would like to be considered for this, you will need to submit a written script of your speech for your teachers and principal to review.Β  Please keep in mind the following:

Anyone may submit aΒ speech; however, only two or three will be chosen by the eighth grade teachers and Mrs. Leifer to be read at the graduation ceremony.
Your speech should be about one page long.
You should not include the names of individual students or teachers as this can lead to hurt feelings if someone is excluded. Also, if you do write a speech that amounts to "a trip down memory lane," each teacher may be mentioned, but these speeches tend to be too long and not all that interesting.
You are encouraged to "think outside the box," so that your speech doesn'tΒ end up sounding like oh-so-many otherΒ graduation speeches.
You are not required to write a graduation speech.Β  If you choose not to write one, you may simply mark this assignment as done.Β
If you do want to submit a speech, please submit it by no later than June 1.
