You may already have some of the following information written on your interactives, but just in case you don't all of it that you worked on Thursday in class is provided below.
Here's the information (in bold) you need to write under the flaps for each interactive:
Saint Paul
Persecuting Christians: Was originally named Saul. Before conversion, he hated Christians and tortured and harassed them. He helped stone St. Stephen.
Meets Jesus: On his way to Damascus to continue persecuting Christians, he saw a bright light that said, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" This was Jesus giving Paul the gift of faith.
Missionary Work: He was baptized and his name was changed to Paul. He traveled widely preaching the Good News and led many to Jesus.
Martyr: His enemies tried many times to kill him but they could not stop him. When he was old and tired, he was imprisoned and sentenced to death.
Saint Peter
Time of Jesus: He was the first pope. Jesus had said Peter would be a fisher of men when they first met. Peter was one of the first followers of Jesus.
Upon this rock . . .: Jesus changed Simon's name to Peter which means "rock." Jesus said, "You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church." Was the 1st chief priest of the apostles.
His Denial: Jesus foretold that Peter would deny him 3 times. Peter couldn't believe this would happen, but it did when Jesus was being sentenced to death.
First public miracle . . .: After Jesus died and Peter received the Holy Spirit, Peter and John performed their first miracle by healing a crippled beggar. They said, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!" He was then healed.
Martyr: Peter was taken prisoner and asked to be crucified like Jesus for denying Him and asked for his head to be down because he wasn't worthy to die like Jesus.
Nero
Nero's Early Life: Came from imperial background. His line traces to Caligula and Claudius.
Nero becomes emperor: Claudius appointed him as heir.
Nero's Achievements: Built Domus Aurea. Some believed he helped the poor and did all he could during the Great Fire in Rome.
Nero and his mother: His mother tried to control him, but she couldn't. She tried to make her stepson emperor instead. Nero had her killed.
Rome under fire: There was a great fire in Rome and Nero didn't help them. He blamed the fire on Christians.
Revolt and Death: Two governors revolted against Nero. One was killed; the other grew powerful & Nero lost influence. Was declared an enemy of the state. He committed suicide.
