Follow the instructions on your chosen task card. Choose the medium that works best for your assigned task; some tasks work better with a physical piece of paper, while for others it might be better to use a Google Doc or Google Slides.
If you use a physical piece of paper, mark this assignment done when you turn the paper in. If you use a Doc or Slides, just attach it to this assignment. If you use Pixton (or any other online tool), be sure to add a link to your finished work here.
1. Choose one of the historical figures from Chapters 15-17 and use Pixton to re-create that person as a super hero/super villain or a mixture of both. Here’s a list of historical figures to choose among:
W.E.B. DuBois
Booker T. Washington
Frederick Douglass
Ida B. Wells-Barnett
Franz Boas
Jack Johnson
Edgar Rice Burroughs
Woodrow Wilson
D.W. Griffiths
2. Decide what type of super power(s) this historical figure would have based on your reading of chapters 15-17. Feel free to do a little more research on this person if you need to in order to truly understand the person's character and social context.
3. Make a Pixton comic containing 1 or more frames of this historical figure as a super hero/villian or mixture of both.
4. The person you choose can be represented in a social/interpersonal situation where the superpower(s) are used, or this figure may simply introduce themselves and explain the superpower(s) they possess.
5. The comic should be supported by what you have read in chapters 15-17 and/or other research you have done to find out more about the person.
6. When you are finished with your super powers comic on Pixton, click the Share icon to generate a link. Copy the link and add it to this assignment using +Add or create>Link>Paste, and click the turn-in button.
