If you did not meet standards on the Chapter 8 test, then do these IXL skills to meet standards.
For 7GB4 on circle circumference and area, do 7AA5 and 7AA6 to a smart score of 80 or higher. (If you did these skills before to a smart score of 80, but did not meet standards on the test, revisit the skill and continue to a smart score of 90.)

For 7GB on solving real life problems, do 7AA4 (word problems with area and perimeter) to a smart score of 80 or higher.
(This skill has not been assigned before.) If you already met standards on the test, do 7AA4 to a smart score of 90 or higher to exceed standards.

.
We will do a warm up question at the start of class that is similar to number 9 on the test.

Chapter 8 Test
This is an open note, open book test. You can use a calculator.
In person students will complete the test in class and turn in the test and a separate page with your work if it doesn't fit on the test.
Distance learners need to complete the test in the Kami document and turn in a photo of your work.

Question 12 is optional. If you answer it correctly the points add on to your score and you can exceed standards if the rest of the test is correct. (If you get it wrong, it does not count.)

The standards for this test are:
7GB Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, or volume
7GB4 Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems
Check your answers for #2 - 22 even in the Chapter 8 Review. Make corrections as needed and turn in a photo of your corrected work here.

Chapter 8 has many formulas that you need to find the perimeter and area of different figures. Today in class we will be making a formula page that includes all of the needed formulas and an example of how to use each formula.
Turn in a photo of your formula page today by 1 pm.
To find the area of a composite figure:
First, identify the simple geometric figures in the composite figure.
Second, identify the formulas you need to find the areas of the different simple geometric figures and right them down.
Third, rewrite the formulas with the information you know about the dimensions of the figures to find the areas of each simple geometric figure.
Fourth, add the different areas together and note the answer. Remember to include square units for area.

Do page 342 - 343 #9,10, 12, 13, and 14.
Write the question number and then show the four steps to find the area.
Turn in a photo of the assignment.
